As the R&D and University Engagement Manager, I manage R&D and engagement programs with academic and research institutes, both domestically and internationally.
I’m a qualified materials scientist. Here at Quickstep, I have access to cutting edge research which is really exciting. Ours is a stimulating environment that nurtures creativity and innovation. I’m very proud of that.
Since working here, the biggest things I’ve learned are how to work within a multidisciplinary team. It’s interesting combining multiple perspectives to best effect. I’ve also had a lot of practice assembling new products and equipment – that’s harder than it looks!
I enjoy the challenges here at Quickstep, and that carries through to my personal life, too. I’m a curious person by nature. When I’m not researching aerospace materials, I can most often be found in nature. I like gardening, hiking and biking.
I wish people knew: Materials scientists are much more fun than you’d think!!!
