The Quickstep UK European Centre of Excellence is located at the Northwest Composites Centre on the campus of the University of Manchester.

The Northwest Composites Centre was established by the Universities of Bolton, Lancaster, Liverpool and Manchester to create a centre of international scientific reputation to the benefit of industry.

NWCC is a university based research centre bringing together the composites activities of The University of Manchester, Bolton University, University of Liverpool and Lancaster University. They cover a wide range of activities including detailed ongoing development work using the Quickstep QS 5 Machine shown below.
