The Quickstep facility will offer traditional composites manufacturing technologies such as autoclaves, alongside Quickstep's patented ‘out of autoclave' manufacturing technique.

Quickstep's North Coogee headquarters will be one of the most advanced aerospace composite manufacturing facilities in the Southern Hemisphere.

The machinery will form an integral part of Quickstep's manufacturing facility, which is expected to be ready for full scale aerospace manufacturing by early March this year, including accreditation to the AS9100 quality standard.

Quickstep is installing two 8 x 3 metre (26 ft. x 10ft. dia.) and one 5 x 2.5 metre (16 ft x 8ft dia.) autoclaves, along with a Breton milling machine which is one of the most precise 5-Axis milling machines in Australia. Quickstep's Breton 5-axis machine can mill very large aerospace parts, and is the only one of its kind in Western Australia. The company's clean room has been expanded, and capabilities in automated ply cutting, non-destructive part testing and laser verification of part dimensions complement the major pieces of manufacturing equipment.

Our aim is to offer a fully integrated aerospace-grade composites manufacturing facility, which provides customers with access to both traditional manufacturing technologies - such as autoclaves - alongside Quickstep's unique patented composites manufacturing technolog.

The patented ‘Quickstep Process' for composites manufacture offers a faster and cheaper alternative to traditional technologies for the manufacture of certain types of composite components.

In preparation for the move to full scale aerospace manufacturing, Quickstep has assembled a world-class team of aerospace engineers, many of whom have relocated to Western Australia from overseas to work with and develop Quickstep's technology.
